What are the benefits of Using CBD to Study?

You have a big test coming up but you just cannot get yourself to settle into the study groove, instead you find yourself drifting mentally and physically. Or you study but have to keep reading the same page over and over.

Let’s face it, we’ve all been there at one time or another..

When you find yourself in such a situation, chances are high that you are suffering from a dopamine deficiency. In case you don’t know, dopamine is a neurotransmitter responsible for learning, memory, and concentration.

This problem also brings with it massive time mismanagement and poor organization skills. Not to mention how disappointed you will be in yourself for not studying like you planned.

Usually, dopamine can be increased by exercise, soothing music or even supplements and diet. It can also be increased by CBD, as CBD acts to affect the increase of dopamine for more mental awareness. Let’s look into the benefits of using CBD for studying!

The Benefits of Studying with CBD

Focus to Learn

How CBD Improves Focus for Studying

For a productive study session, you must find a way to positively affect and motivate learning. To help with learning, your synaptic activity must be optimum, which can be achieved through regulation by the endocannabinoid system.

A study was conducted on laboratory mice with degenerated brains in 2014, and the response was found quite interesting.

The group of mice administered with CBD performed way better than those without on spatial learning tests.

It was also found that free radicals could very easily affect the ability to learn. CBD has long since been used to track down these free radicals and clearing them out of your system.

Enjoy Better Material Retention

Do you find that you remember nothing after hours of studying? You try to recall but draw a blank every time. It is not that you did not put in any work, it’s that your brain just will not cooperate and bring the material forth.

The power to remember things is especially important when you have to remember formulas in math or dates and facts in history.

CBD has been found to be helpful on the memory front in several studies.

In appropriate dosages, CBD has been found to improve retention of the material studied. Being able to remember the material you just studied more effectively is quite motivating. Leaving you ready to study more.

Soon it will be effortless, the focus and concentration will come naturally.

The effect of THC and CBD on memory was compared in a study.

It was found that THC had some debilitating effects on memory. While CBD, on the other hand, had the opposite effect.

In fact, CBD was found to have the capability to repair a THC impaired memory.

Another study involved mice with memory deficits caused by Alzheimer’s. CBD was effective in reversing that particular Alzheimer’s issue.

All of these test results are proof that retention can be improved with CBD.

CBD Helps Keep Distractions at Bay

Reduce Distractions While Studying with the use of CBD

When your mind is unsettled, it will keep finding ways to wander away from the books for a glass of water or to urinate or to get a snack.

Soon those trips just become a deterrent to a productive studying session. The trick is to keep the water close so you do not have to get up frequently.

Hydration is actually quite beneficial to the learning process. However, that means that you will need to urinate frequently.

You could try to hold it but that would be counterproductive not to mention unhealthy.

Studies have suggested that cannabinoids can modulate neurotransmission geared towards the process of micturition by indirectly affecting the nociceptive response pathways.

Another distraction could be muscle soreness.

Sitting up for long periods with your head bowed down is not easy on your back and neck muscles. Your butt will also get pretty tired, and eventually you will experience pain in your back and neck.

Your butt will also lodge a complaint of its own.

You should stretch often just to keep your blood pumping. Cannabinoids and their receptors are paramount to the link between muscle groups and the neurons that control them.

CBD helps this case by cutting off communication between the nerves and the muscles. You will still need to stretch on your breaks but you will not experience pain or sore muscles.

Anxiety and fear of not doing well can be hurdles to learning. Your mind is constantly thinking about a potential bad grade and the consequent events.

You are so busy playing all those images in your head that you do not even have the capacity to learn anything.

Cannabidiol can be quite effective in helping you conquer that fear and abate the anxiety.

By exerting action on anandamide, CBD is able to affect a sense of bliss and wellbeing. It helps induce a positive state of mind. It also puts you in a better mood to study regardless of what else might be going on in your life.

Sleep and Alertness

CBD Helps to Improve Your Alertness and Ability to Sleep for Better Studying

Sleep is a very important part of studying, you have to get enough sleep so that your body and brain can rejuvenate and be ready for another day of gaining knowledge.

Alertness during the day will usually help you get better sleep in the evening. Being fully alert and awake during the day will ensure you enjoy the best quality sleep.

How CBD affects these two states can be quite confounding. At lower dosages, CBD stimulates the endocannabinoid system such that you are more awake.

A 2006 study on the stimulating effects of CBD involved administration of micro-doses to laboratory mice. They spent more time awake than asleep.

A 2013 study looked at the other end of the spectrum. The study found that doses of about 30 mg/kg increased the amount of time the mice subjects spent sleeping.

A study involving humans was also conducted found that a dose of about 160 mg per day increased the amount of sleep. But at 15 mg per day, the human beings had a more active day.

That dosage of 160 mg in one may not work. Some subjects needed up to 400 mg, but this can be quite expensive.

The alternative is to dose 15 mg in the morning for a day of alertness so that you can sleep well in the evening without needing CBD aid.

You may argue that you will need to study at night too. If you are a student, CBD will help you stay alert, productive and attentive during the day.

So much so that studying in the evening will not be entirely necessary. However, if you still need to study in the evening that small dosage of CBD will keep you up and focused.
